Mukunda is an intriguing labyrinth of gardens and courtyards, terraces and balconies, secret staircases and hidden spaces. The araish lime plaster wall finishes and frescoes have been conserved with all their patina, the courtyards are hubs of haveli life. The eight guest suites are uniquely designed to retain the original haveli layout and architectural features, adapted for contemporary living with a light touch, with modern luxuries added sensitively and sustainably. All the heritage of the merchant havelis is there to be discovered, for every wall has a story to tell.
Mukunda is an experience of haveli living that takes its inspiration from the seasons and festivals of Shekhawati. The light, air and sounds of the haveli are all around. Grains grown on our organic farm are prepared in the courtyard, Baya weaver birds nest in the tranquil garden and bulbuls sometimes raise their families in the chandeliers. In the evening, chants and bhajans drift in on the breeze from nearby temples as the peacocks and egrets return to roost. The vegetarian food uses seasonal home-grown organic and local produce; candlelit dinners revive lost dishes from the desert regions of Rajasthan.
Stay at the uniquely designed HAVELI OF TALES, Mukundgarh, and experience haveli living in the painted towns of Shekhawati.
