Kerala - A spicy affair

Day 01 Kochi:

Pick up from Kochi airport and transfer to your hotel in the Fort Kochi heritage area. Kochi is the cultural and commercial hub of Kerala. Leisure in the day. In evening watch a spectacular Kathakali performance alongwith its make-up process

Day 02: Kochi:

Day sightseeing at Fort Kochi. Visit the Mattancherry palace, Jewish synagogue, Jew town, old spice markets, St. Francis church, Santa Cruz Basilica and Chinese fishing nets. Opt to dine in a specialty seafood restaurant in Fort Kochi.

Day 03: Athirapally waterfalls:

Drive to Athirapally- a secluded verdant spot overlooking majestic waterfalls in a sprawling rainforest. Day will be spent relaxing and exploring around.



Day 04: Munnar:

Drive to visit Kodanad Elephant Camp. Later, after a picturesque drive through jungles, waterfalls and spice plantations , reach the high ranges of Munnar- the highest and the most beautiful tea growing region in the world. Stay in a beautiful bungalow located in a spice estate

Day 05: Munnar:

Visit Eravikkulam National Park to see the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Explore the tea estates around; the uneven drive through neatly combed plantations is simply exhilarating. Spare some time to buy finest spices, herbal oils and organic products

Day 06 - 07: Vagamon:

Drive to another picturesque region of tropical plantations. Stay in a house of Syrian Christian family and assimilate yourselves during these two days in local life . Relish local cuisine.

Day 8-9: Kumarakom

Drive further and reach Kumarakom- an island on Vembanad Lake with extremely serene and laid-back atmosphere. Stay in Coconut Lagoon, a wonderful resort providing restored tharawads (traditional wood-houses) as idyllic rooms. The place is ideal for learning Kerala’s customs, relishing local cuisines , watching martial art form known as Kalaripayattu and having rejuvenating Ayurvedic massages.

Day 10: Houseboat on Lake:

Your fully furnished AC houseboat with private chef and assistant will pick you for a full day and night (All meals included) cruise through varied scenery and landscapes of Vembanad Lake. From school going kids to tax-collectors, you are likely to see people from all walks of life sailing on water in their personal small boats.



Day 11-13: Kovalam:

After alighting from Houseboat, you’ll be transferred by car to Kovalam beach where you’ll stay for three nights in a luxury resort. Spend the next three days relaxing. There is option to visit the Padmanabhapuram Palace or to take Thiruvananthapuram city sightseeing on one of the days. The banana shops in Connemara market are not to be missed!

Day 14: Departure

At appropriate time check out and departure to airport for onward journey. Tour ends.
