“Enjoy the spirit of adventure, tread in parts unknown and celebrate true Indian Moments” Indian Moments is very pleased to announce its upcoming ‘Exotic Glimpses of India’ Tour scheduled for the month of Kartik (Oct-Nov). A varied and intimate journey that crosses all aspects of Indian life.
Upon arrival at the New Delhi International Airport, you will be met by a representative of Indian Moments and transported to the luxurious “The imperial” for an overnight stay.
Day 02 to 04
Mukundgarh in Shekhawati The adventure begins. Enjoy breakfast and then travel to the region of Shekhawati – a land rich in heritage and famous for its beautiful architecture of fresco paintings. The beautifully restored Mukund Haveli is a private heritage mansion owned by Indian Moments. This will be your home for the next three days. Wander the village of Mukundgarh known for it’s tie and dye community. Explore the local bazaar and neighboring villages. Engage in birdwatching or people watching. Learn to cook from your experienced host or just relax and listen to beautiful Indian music with a glass of wine.
Day 05 to 06
Indian Moments Farm After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a short drive to your next destination – a working farm where you will spend two nights with a local farmer and his family. Here you volunteer to work side by side with the farmer in the fields and later enjoy a picnic during high tea. From a mesmerizing sunset of orange and red to a night sky of glittering stars, rekindle your childhood romance of stargazing and constellations. Your accommodation on the farm will be basic but Comfortable.
Day 07 to 08
Pushkar Camel Fair The Pushkar Camel Fair awaits you with great excitement and anticipation. The fairgrounds will transport you back intime – a visual feast for your eyes. You will stay in luxury designer tents and relish the personalized hospitality of the camp and its staff. The tranquility of Camp Bliss is a perfect complement to the hustle and bustle of the fairground of Pushkar, which is vibrantly alive with activity.
Bundi The small but picturesque town of Bundi is your next stop. Famous for its ornate forts, palaces and step-wells ‘baoris’, it is charming and brimming with history. The winding lanes and small streets of the old town offer great photographic opportunities. Dine on the rooftop of a local restaurant where you will find an engaging view of the fort and palace by night.
Day 10 to 12
Chandrabhaga Fair After breakfast, start your journey driving past the largest city of the region (Hadoti) – Kota and onwards towards the ‘Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary’, once a popular migration route for wild elephants, tigers and other wildlife, connecting the jungles of North and Central India.
Soon after you will join the pilgrims from all directions congregating to pay homage at the 7th century Shiva Temple, located on the banks of the serene ‘Chandrabhaga River’. This fairly unexplored area is rich in history and culture. Witness the highly dramatic scene with thousands of devotees lining the path, up and down the Shiva temple. Stalls along the way sell flowers,
Bilvapatra (stone apple) leaves and sweet meat are offer to the God as pilgrims take a holy dip in the adjoining Chandrabhaga River. Markets are a buzz of activity, while you also see thousands of animals, including camels, horses, cattle and buffalo which occupy different parts of the vast fairground, their owners busy in negotiation.
Day 13 to 14
Delhi- Departure Transfer to the Kota Railway Station to board your train to Delhi, staying overnight in a hotel before transferring to the Delhi International Airport on the next day where you will connect with your departing flight.
